Kivutha Kibwana, the Makueni county boss who is arguably the most learned governor in the nation has made it clear to the nation what he intends to do when his second term in office folds.

The governor said this will mark his last taste at elective politics as he embarks on other family issues.

“This will be my last term. Once I complete it, there is no turning back. I will have to quit active politics.” The professor said during his oath taking in September last year.

This, Prof.Kibwana said, is owing to the fact that he has not been able to spend quality time with his wife and extended family at large due to office-related engagements.

His Machakos counterpart,Dr. Alfred Mutua is however just getting started with plans of clinching presidency.

Having hosted a delegation of 16,000 leaders from Ukambani last year who endorsed him for the country’s top seat, Mutua has been initiating grass root connections using incumbency to his advantage.

The Machakos man, however, might be forced to shelve his ambitions if the petition challenging his victory by Wipers’s Wavinya Ndeti sails through.
