Makueni police have arrested the man caught on video assaulting his wife. Mr David Nzomo was arrested in Nguu Masumba, Kibwezi west in Makueni County where he was hiding.
The arrest was confirmed by Makueni county commissioner Mohammed Maalim who said that the suspect is held at Masumba AP camp.
Irate crowd is camping outside the camp baying for his blood.
A video of Nzomo ruthlessly beating his wife went viral on social media.
The suspect went into hiding after commiting the heinous act.
Leaders and residents who bitterly condemned the act called for immediate arrest.
The lady identified as Winfred Mwende claimed that its not the first time her husband beat her.
She said that her husband should be nabbed and prosecuted according to the law.
Women leaders from Makueni came forward to help the lady identified as get medication in Machakos and Makueni hospitals.
She is now recuperating at Makueni level four hospital in Wote.
She had sustained serious injuries on her head and hands.
Police launched a manhunt after office of the director of public prosecution called for the man to be nabbed .
At a separate function Makueni senator Hon Mutula jr called for speedy justice Mrs Mwende and that this case should serve as an example to those with similar behavior
