The Makueni county government through governor Kivutha Kibwana on Wednesday May 23, commissioned an Emergency Water Treatment plant at Wote in the county.

The plant that is set to be erected by the county government in conjunction with the  Kenya RedCross Society is situated at the banks of Kaiti River and  will provide clean and safe water to residents of Wote town.

“The plant, which draws water from Kaiti River, is able to produce 50,000 litres per hour, translating to 1.2 million litres of clean water in a day, enough to serve the whole population in Wote.” the governor said.

Makueni county has embraced devolution warmly and it would seem the governor is working day in day out to make sure he implements his promises to the people of Makueni.

Provision of water is one of the big four agenda stimulated by Prof.  Kivutha when he took his second oath in office at the helm of the county administration.
