Makueni Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana has refuted claims that he is intendeding to deputize anyone in the 2022 presidential race.
Governor kibwana’s supporters were concerned after he met ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Deputy president William Ruto last week.
The governor mantained that he was on the presidential race, and explained that the meetings were part of a series of dialogues he has been holding to ensure the country will not get into heated campaigns that could escalate violence in the country after the 2022 elections.
“The meetings have nothing to do with seeking to deputise anyone,” he said after Sunday service and a fundraiser at Matinga Baptist Church in Kibwezi West constituency.
In his address Kibwana asked church leaders to preach peace ahead of 2022 elections and promised to meet all other presidential candidates across the country.
Speaking during the event, machakos chief of staff Mr Mwengi Mutuse challenged Kenyan MPs to push for equitable distribution of resources to the constituencies to ensure equal development across the country.
